I made the Wagamama salad dressing, which is supposed to be great, but it was bland and just didn't do anything for me. My wife wouldn't even finish her salad.
I also made the marinated chicken stir fry. Turned out okay, but the instructions seem like they were written by someone who doesn't actually cook. For instance they said to cook onions for one minute over medium heat "until they begin to caramelize." Onions don't begin to caramelize anywhere near a minute. It also said cook snow peas and red pepper cubes for 1-2 minutes "until they begin to wilt." Try 5 minutes MINIMUM. Not to mention they had you throw in the bean sprouts at the same time as the peppers, so they ended up mushy.
In the end everything was cooked unevenly and the flavor, while tolerable, was not anything special. I'm going to give a chance to the soup, if it turns out bad I'll have to donate the book.
It's excellent for the oriental sauces one can prepare, keep in the fridge and use for a variety of preparations. It's clear, non fussy and effective.
