Easy Air Fryer Asian Chicken Wings

Easy Air Fryer Asian Chicken Wings

If you are an owner of an air fryer, you’ll know that it allows you to get that crispiness without having to use much oil. I’ve not met anyone (so far) that doesn’t like chicken wings. This easy Air-Fry Asian Chicken Wings is insanely easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion and time.

Teochew Fried Prawn Ball

Teochew Fried Prawn Ball

There are many versions and variations of fried prawn balls and this Teochew Fried Prawn Ball is an easy-to-prepare recipe that requires very few ingredients. The “secret” ingredient to making restaurant-quality prawn balls is pork fat. Yes, pork fat. Mixing just a tablespoon of it into the prawn paste is what makes this dish super delicious.

Quick and Easy Christmas Fruit Cake

Quick and Easy Christmas Fruit Cake

I’ve been receiving multiple requests from BNF fans requesting for a fruit cake recipe. After multiple researches and few recipe tests, I’m proud to present you this Quick and Easy Christmas Fruit Cake. Actually, you could enjoy this rich and ultra-moist fruit cake anytime of the year but since Christmas is around the corner, I wanted to make this for my dad-in-law who is a huge fan of fruit cakes...

Spaghetti alle Vongole

Spaghetti alle Vongole

Now, except for my best friend who does not like any shell fish, I haven't met anyone who could say no to vongole aka clams. Wow your loved ones or dinner guests with this simple yet delicious recipe! Italians prepare this dish two ways: bianco, i.e., with oil, garlic, parsley, and sometimes a splash of white wine; and in rosso, like the former but with tomatoes and fresh basil, the addition of tomatoes being more frequent in the south. Cream and cheese are never added to this dish. The "creaminess" in this dish is called "emulsione" (emulsion in English), which comes from adding the pasta water and tossing the pasta well. I like mine bianco (with more than a splash of white wine) so here’s a super easy peasy version that never fails. Oh, I usually buy my favorite bottle of white wine so I can finish.. I mean have a glass or two over dinner.

Molten Chocolate Lava Cake

Molten Chocolate Lava Cake

Molten chocolate lava cake is a cross between a chocolate cake and soufflé. Other names used are chocolate fondant pudding or chocolate lava cake. Whatever name we like to call it, we can all recognize a MCLC by its signature oozing gooey centre. In this post, I'm going to show you just how easy it is to make this restaurant quality dessert at your own home, even for first-time bakers! You might want to do a test run on this recipe to be sure of the cooking time and the desired consistency. Mine was perfect in 10 minutes. This recipe has been tweaked to serve 2 so feel free to increase the the ingredients accordingly. Oh, another piece of good news. If you want to prepare the cake mixture in advance, you can! Just cover the ramekins with cling wrap and pop it in the fridge. Take them out about 30 minutes before baking.

Crispy Onion Rings

Crispy Onion Rings

They are generally a cross-sectional "ring" of onion dipped in batter or bread crumbs and then deep fried. Some would use onion paste (found in the frozen sections of supermarkets) but I personally think whole onion rings are the way to go. They are easy to make and taste oh-so-good. Dip your onion rings in ketchup or spicy sauces if you prefer. Now who can resist a plate of crispy crunch onion rings? I know I can’t!

Simple Kimchi

Simple Kimchi

I'm a HUGE Kimchi fan. Be it baechu kimchi, kkakdugi, yeolmu kimchi, etc, I simply got to have it almost everyday. Looking at the amount of $$ I'm spending on kimchi, it makes economical sense for me to make it myself, right? After testing a few recipes, I found this to be the most easy-to-make and yummilicious version. The secret step here is making the flour paste. This step is optional but my Korean friend's mom told me it will bind the spices and absorbs better into the cabbage. Adjust the level of spiciness according to your taste bud.

Kimchi Pancake

Kimchi Pancake

If you like kimchi, then you MUST like Kimchijeon aka kimchi pancake. There's no reason not to (unless you are gluten intolerant). Jeon in Korean means pancake-like dish primarily made with sliced kimchi, flour batter and sometimes other vegetables. There are many different versions but this easy to make yet delicious recipe is the best (in my opinion). This is a very basic version, feel free to create your own by adding in your favorite vegetables, meat or seafood.

Peel A Head of Garlic - No Knife Required!

Peel A Head of Garlic - No Knife Required!

Let's face it, peeling garlic is a pain in the neck. It gets in your finger nails, under your skin and takes forever for them to come apart. The 2nd last thing I want (1st thing is garlic breath) is to have my fingers reeking of garlic. So here is any easy way to peel as many heads of garlic as you want, yet keeping your fingers garlic-smell free! Oh, an added bonus - you could also tone your arms and biceps while doing that.

Easy Key Lime Pie

Easy Key Lime Pie

As promised, here is my take on the key lime pie recipe. That being said, I'm not using key lime as they mainly grown in Florida, US. I haven't seen any in Singapore. I'm using large Thai limes, which can be found in major supermarkets here. You can also use the medium or small limes but that means you have to spend more time squeezing the juice. This is really an all-American dessert, using lime juice, condensed milk and egg yolks. Sorry health fanatics, you may just want to exit this page now. I've also replaced the graham crackers for the crust with digestive biscuits.

Easy Potato Salad

Easy Potato Salad

What happen if you find 2 potatoes sitting in your pantry and have absolutely zero will power to whip up a storm? I don’t know about you, but there are just days when I feel super lazy to cook anything fancy (just like writer’s block, is there such a word as cook’s block?), yet don’t want the ingredients to expire and go to waste. So I made potato salad! Found some other ingredients in the fridge which I thought would go nicely with the potatoes.

Tom Yum Goong

Tom Yum Goong

I used to think making Tom Yum soup from scratch requires many man hours. Boy, was I wrong! Not only it is easy-peasy but I can also control the amount of heat / chilli level that goes inside. You see, we (hubby and I) are sissies when it comes to eating spicy food but yet we love them. How contradicting, eh?

Easy Banana Chocolate Sheet Cake

A lot of readers have asked me: “What is a perfect cake to bring to a party?” The answer is in this recipe. Chocolate is really one of the universal sweet that almost everyone will go goo-goo gah gah over with. The thing about bringing food to parties is they have to survive for at least a few hours at room temperature environment and still taste good. Therefore, I highly recommend this Easy Banana Chocolate Sheet Cake. Did I mention it is so easy to put together as well?...

Homemade Lemon Curd

Homemade Lemon Curd

I love everything lemon. From dishwashing liquid, liquer to desserts (yeah, that is a totally unrelated spectrum), I just can’t get enough of that zesty, lemony tang. Today’s recipe is all about my childhood’s favorite dessert spread – Easy Homemade Lemon Curd.

Easy Potato Curry Puffs

Easy Potato Curry Puffs

What makes a good curry puff? Honestly, I’m no connoisseur when it comes to deciding one. Blame it on my low-heat/spice tolerance level, I couldn’t really enjoy those curry puffs packed with robust spices and tongue-numbing heat. Unfortunately, other than the school canteen Malay Epok Epok aka Malay Curry Puffs (which I absolutely love), I can’t seem to find any with milder curry spiciness.

Homemade Guacamole

Homemade Guacamole

This homemade guacamole post almost did not make it to this page had it not been for my persistent 14-year old. Truth be told, I was reluctant and embarrassed. Oh, don’t get me wrong. This homemade guac is nothing but absolutely delicious and addictive. (If you are an avocado lover, you would know what I’m talking about. But if you are not, it’s never too late to try!) But because it is so ridiculously easy to prepare, I’m not sure if anyone would be interested...
