August and September can be some of the most expensive months for parents. Back to school shopping can include uniforms and clothing, shoes, school supplies, backpacks, home items like ziplock bags, tissues, and hand sanitizer, and even expensive electronics, and buying it all at once for multiple children can put a strain on finances. Regardless, your child has to have these supplies when starting a new school year. The good news is there are some great ways to budget for back to school shopping!
Back to school for many means back to packing school lunches, and if you're struggling with the same boring, gluten-free options, I have a fantastic lunchbox that is perfectly balanced and better-for-you with a fun Pecan Apple Pie Popcorn Mix recipe.

Now that back to school time is here, it's time to start thinking about healthy routines. Sometimes we get so busy that we can't always eat right, so one way to make sure everyone stays healthy is to take a daily multivitamin. It's not too early to start building healthy habits with school-aged children, but what if they don't want to take their vitamins? I've got 3 sure-fire ways to get kids to take their vitamins and I'll share them with you!

Let's face it, this time of year is crazy! With the kids going back to school and the holidays fast approaching, this is the busiest time of year for families. We all like to serve those Pinterest-pretty meals but don't always have the time...or do we? I tried out some of Save-A-Lot's new America’s Choice® Creations products, fancied them up for my family, and everything was ready in 15 minutes. 15 MINUTES, Y'ALL!
Back to school season is the busiest time of year for my family. Once we pick the kids up from school it's go, go, go. With homework, projects, and after school activities to tend to the last thing I want to do is spend an hour or more in the kitchen cooking dinner, so today I'm teaming up with Smithfield to bring you a delicious Fall dish, cooked in the slow cooker, and it only takes 5 minutes of prep time! It's Real Flavor, Real Fast! This Slow Cooker Molasses, Garlic, & Herb Pork Loin is quick and easy and oh so tender and flavorful. The garlic and herbs infuse the pork with flavor while the molasses mixture gives it a deep, sweet, sticky crust.
When the weather gets chilly, we move from after school snacks like granola bars and trail mix to something quick and warming, but quick doesn't have to mean compromising nutrition or quality. I have a great time-saving lunch, after school snack, or dinner option for you and I also created a fun printable Kids' Placemat that is full of games to keep them busy so you can get more done!
Whether your kids have already started school this year or are about to start, these lunchbox note jokes are the perfect addition to their lunches. These free printables are cute school-themed jokes for kids that will put a smile on their face at lunchtime.
Back to school time means back to getting organized. Besides planning our regular meals, I also like to make sure we have lots of after school snacks on hand for the kids and any of their friends that make their way to our home. I always keep a snack bin in the cabinet full of granola bars and trail mix, but the cold snacks were scattered all through the fridge. Instead of having them dig through the fridge, I decided that snack time would be much easier if we had a drawer just for snacks and I'll show you how I did it.
If you're looking for some clever hacks to make going back to school a little bit easier this year, then this post is for you. Below you will see 15 of the smartest ways to make the most of your time and ease the frustration of the back to school season.
With cooler weather here and Fall on the horizon, I couldn't wait to make something warm and comforting with some of my favorite Fall flavors. This marinated garlic & herb pork loin is butterflied and rolled with herbed stuffing and glazed with a sweet and tart cranberry sauce. Sound complicated? It took me less than 30 minutes to prepare and it cooked in the slow cooker while I did other things. :) Back to school is back to busy time for me, so you know this recipe is going to be easy to make and taste amazing!
Back to school time is here already and we're busy getting ready for the new school year. My daughter is going into middle school at a completely new school and she's super-excited, but also a little nervous. She'll be going to a magnet school in another area, so she's worried that she won't know very many, if any, of the students and has never met any of the teachers. We had a little talk about teachers and how hard, but awesome, their jobs are and she wanted to give her new teacher a gift. Of course, we ended up putting together a great "Take a Break" gift basket that I think any teacher would love to receive!
