How to cover a snapclip with ribbon?

Snapclips covered with ribbon looks so elegant on toddlers. If you have a girl, you must have altleast a pair of these. Ribbon covered snapclips are a great hair accesory to any girls wardrobe. When i first saw them i fell in love them. They are colorful, beautiful and holds hair well.   When i first started making hairclips, i only covered aligator clips with ribbon and decorate them. Not until i stumbled on some random videos , i knew they are so easy to make. My next step is to try a hand on them. With minimum trails i could master them. All you need is to plan where to start and end and cover the tip neat and clean.   Today i will be sharing with you all how i do them. These are one of the basic styles if you are into hairbow making. After that the options to decorate them is endless. I have shared a few themed decoration here, the most popular and asked from me are my easter hairclips.     INSTRUCTIONS TO COVER A SNAPCLIP WITH RIBBON To cover snapclips (regular size) you need exactly 18 – 20 cms of 3/8 inch ribbon. If you are new to crafting  start with a few extra cms than exact length. A couple of more twists might need extra. It is better always better to have extra than running out of ribbon at the end. You can always trim the extra ribbon than adding more. Step 1: Open your snapclip, starting at the bottom center place your ribbon at 45 degree angle and stick it with a glue dot. Wrap around the outer edge of the snapclip till the top end. Don’t overlap the ribbon much. 3-4 wraps should bring you to the other other end. Step 2 : Add a dab of glue to the tip of the clip and wrap around it till the top. Press for 2 seconds letting the ribbon to stick. Turn the direction of the snapclip and from wrap from behind to go to the other side. Use picture for an easy understanding. Wrap around the other edge towards the bottom of the clip. You should reach the other end by 3 -4 wraps depending on the angle you wrap at. Step 3 : Wrap till the other end and with a dab of glue secure the ribbon front and behind and trim any excess. Allow to dry in betwwen coats. It dries very quickly. STEP 2 When completly dry trace any quote or write any quote with pencil.  With a black maker or a black paint trace the quote slowly.  Do not worry being perfect, it is handmade not a print to look alike unless you want to look it like one. STEP 3 when the quote is dry, let’s draw some lemons. You can mark first with a pencil, like two small ovals. Or dip a paint brush in yellow and draw to ovals as shown.  Add two leaves with green paint. You can use yellow and green markers if you do not feel using paint and brushes. STEP 4 Now it’s time to warp the fabric around. Cut a long strip of fabric or ribbon of chioce to wrap around wooden crate. Tie a knot and wrap the fabric around leaving some to tuck to the inside of the crate.  Glue the ends to the inside to secure. STEP 5 Use a chioce of flower embishment to add in the front. I have a handmade fabric flower in yellow that goes well with the theme so using it. Add a bow with yellow ribbon or fabric and attach it to complete the look.
