This recipe was cooked for us by some dear friends from Rhodes, when they visited us right before COVID kicked off and changed our lives! As a chef and his partner, they fed us a selection of tasty treats during their stay - but this was our ultimate favourite, and one I just had to ask them for the recipe for. They are very generous, and shared the recipe with us in a heartbeat. My thanks to them, always! Lasagna (or Lasagne is correct, I think, in the UK and Europe) is heart-warming comfort food at the best of times. But this veggie-based spinach lasagna recipe, using the iron-packed and healthy spinach in place of mince, and the addition of that mouth-watering lime, makes this dish a whole different ball game! You still have that ultimate comfort dish - but with a twist. You know you’ve knocked it out of the park when the whole table goes quiet after that first mouthful, silently savouring the wonderful flavour explosion happening in their mouths! A healthy spinach lasagna is great to have in your repertoire as a veggie - but this lime-infused one is all the more special. We didn’t even have the fooodlove site back when they made this recipe for us - but it’s the best spinach lasagne recipe I’ve ever tried, and one I simply HAD to share with you guys onsite! I hope you adore it as much as we do.
How to make the ultimate, tastiest fajitas with steak, chicken, or shrimp. This versatile and flavorful seasoning works on everything. Use this recipe to make chicken, steak, or a combination, and it is super easy! Marinated in lime juice, garlic, and cumin — so good you’ll never use another...
Key lime pie is probably my favorite thing ever. Good key lime pie — not nasty, green, gelatinous, sorry-excuse-for-key-lime pie. As such, I also love other stuff with key lime juice. And I am actually allowed to eat small amounts of sherbet on this diet. So when my friend Isabel mentioned that she was making [...]
As much as I love pie, I’ve never been big on apple. Give me raspberry, pecan, key lime or blueberry cream over apple any day. But as I was clicking through a fall pie slideshow on Epicurious.com, this pie caught my eye. It isn’t the typical chunks-of-apple-with-too-much-cinnamon-inside-two-dry-crusts pie. The apples are thinly sliced and piled [...]
I love watermelon, but every time I buy it I get a little overwhelmed by how much of it there is. So, I figured I’d turn some of it into a margarita. Of course. You don’t need a ton of limes for this. I actually put too much lime juice in the first time I [...]
I have a confession: I prefer pie to cake. I know, I know. Cakes are prettier, and they usually feed more people, and they are definitely a much better vehicle for rainbow sprinkles. And ice cream cake is obviously amazing. But there’s just something about a piece of key lime pie, or cherry pie with vanilla [...]
It would be lovely if we all had endless supplies of margaritas made from fresh-squeezed lime juice, agave syrup and premium tequila, rimmed with a fancy artisanal salt blend and garnished with a sliver of orange peel. But sometimes, you just need a bunch of margaritas, stat. Maybe you’re having a party… or maybe it’s [...]
Nimbu pani (shikanji or shikanjvi) is an Indian-style limeade (or lemonade) made with lime (or lemon), water, salt, sugar, and a few optional spices. This refreshing Indian lemonade is super easy to make and perfect for summer.
Cinco de Mayo is drawing closer and I've got a great recipe for your celebrations: Elotes Fries! If you don't know what Elotes are, it's a cob of roasted corn, slathered with a lime & garlic cream and rolled in salty, crumbled cotija cheese, then sprinkled with chopped cilantro and it's commonly sold as street food in Mexico. It's ridiculously delicious and addictive and I've made them into a topping for fries. You're welcome. 😉
Hi! I've got a crazy-good recipe for you today: 8-Layer Burrito Bowls! These bowls are piled high with fajita-spiced rice, seasoned black beans, a tomato, onion, and pepper mix, fire-roasted corn, queso quesadilla cheese, sliced avocado, chopped cilantro, and a lime crema drizzle. It might sound a little complicated to prepare, but it's really not; Besides cooking a pot of rice, chopping cilantro, slicing an avocado, and stirring lime juice into the Crema Mexicana, it's simply heat and stack! Keep reading for this crazy-easy and mouth-watering recipe!
Spicy Beer Shrimp with Smokey Creamy Saison Polenta and Lime Crema
I’ve learned a few things in the handful of days I’ve lived in Seattle. People here drive like nice, sane, humans. Unfortunately, I’ve been conditioned by the LA freeways to drive like a pissed off asshole. I’ve been driving in LA since I was a teenager. I need to learn to drive like a sane…

Lemon Beer Party Cake with Rum Lime Whipped Cream I’m supposed to sit here and write about a cake when all I want to do is cry. I’m supposed to sit here and write about a cake when people are dead for terrible reasons. I’m supposed to sit here and write about a cake when my…
Orange Lime Belgian Wit Cream Tart I know you’ve done this, I know you can relate. My phone rang Tuesday morning, 4th of July, at 6:30 am. Seriously? Who died? Why would anyone call me (late sleeper, night person that I am) at 6:30 am? The area code triggers a memory in the fog of…
Grilled Lime and Herb Beer Chicken I have a beer fridge in my office!! There really isn’t a way to overstate how happy this makes me. My excessive stash of beer that once took up residence in my regular-food-fridge is now happily occupying a boozy-VIP-space in my office between some nerdy books and a weird ceramic…
